    Glenn Allen

    Managing Director & Co-Founder

    I am a highly driven individual, constantly striving to improve both myself and the operational side of our business. I take immense pride in my work and enjoy collaborating with the talented team around me. As a dedicated family man, I aim to set an example for my daughters and grandchildren, demonstrating the value of an honest and hardworking life.I am extremely proud to be the Managing Director at West Yorkshire Gas Solutions, where I am deeply committed to achieving the ambitious targets, we have set. My journey as a heating engineer began at the age of 16, and even today, my tools are never far from my side. Holding qualifications in Gas, LPG, Oil, solid fuel, and heat pump systems, I bring expertise and experience to every project I undertake. Beyond work, I find joy in watching any sport I can and exploring the breathtaking countryside with my family. These moments reinforce my appreciation for both professional excellence and the simple pleasures life has to offer.

Supporting customers in becoming more self-sufficient by generating their own electricity is not just rewarding, it’s a vital step towards a sustainable future. It’s much more than a business to me it’s something I have nurtured from the ground up, and I will always fight to ensure its continued success. Away from work, I’m a dedicated family man, enjoy a gripping thriller series, and true to my rebellious side remain a lifelong petrolhead.

    Director

    As Director of WYGS, I lead strategic initiatives in insulation measures, solar PV solutions, and industry accreditations, ensuring compliance and operational excellence. I oversee CRM systems and business processes to drive efficiency and enhance customer engagement. Beyond my professional responsibilities, I apply my creativity in the kitchen as a dedicated chef, take on hands-on projects as an enthusiastic DIYer, and proudly support Manchester City. Above all, I treasure my role asa grandparent, creating lasting memories with my family.

    Georgie Allen

    Finance Manager

    I am an experienced finance professional with a strong track record in financial management, strategic planning, and cost optimisation.My expertise in risk assessment, forecasting, and financial reporting helps drive business growth while ensuring regulatory compliance. As a confident leader, I thrive on nurturing collaboration, improving efficiency, and aligning financial strategies with broader organisational goals.Beyond my professional life, I am very much a family person and love spending quality time with my daughter and enjoying big family holidays. I also value socialising with friends, whether it’s a lively night out or simply catching up. My role within the team and with the directors is to facilitate financial growth, enabling them to plan effectively for the future of the business

    As a dedicated member of the team, I support the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate and up-to-date business accounts, ensuring financial operations run smoothly. I take great pride in working alongside a collaborative team within a company committed to helping customers live safely in their homes. Beyond my professional role, I have a passion for exploring the world, having visited destinations such as the United States, China, Japan, and India.

    Retrofit Design Coordinator

    I manage all aspects of retrofit design and coordination, while also project managing several of the schemes we deliver. My priority is ensuring every project runs smoothly, with customer well-being at the heart of every install. I’m proud to have been crowned Best Looking Man at WYGS for three consecutive years, a title I hold with great responsibility! Outside of work, I’m passionate about sports, love spending time in nature and I am a devoted cat dad.

    James Connell

    Electrical Manager

    As the Electrical Manager at WYGS Ltd, I oversee the strategic planning, execution, and ongoing maintenance of electrical installations and projects. My role involves ensuring that all systems are designed and implemented to the highest standards, meeting both regulatory requirements and our commitment to sustainability. I take pride in playing a key role in the development and integration of renewable energy systems that contribute to reducing carbon footprints, helping clients embrace cleaner, more efficient technologies. By combining expertise with innovation, I work to optimise performance, enhance reliability, and drive forward progress in the electrical sector. Outside of work, I’m a passionate football fan and enjoy travelling, exploring new destinations and experiences.

    Mechanical Manager

    I manage all the heating engineers, fostering strong relationships so that together we provide the best possible experience for the customer, ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the entire installation. If an issue arises, I step in and work alongside them to resolve it to the best of my ability. I talk so much, I could probably heat a house just with my words. With years of experience in renewable heating, I use my knowledge to help educate up-and-coming engineers. I also support customers in understanding new ways to heat their homes using renewable technology

    Martin Haycock

    Insulation Manager

    As the Insulation Manager, I oversee the loft and cavity wall insulation teams, supporting installers and ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard. I’m dedicated to improving the quality of our work with every project, striving to minimise return visits and unnecessary delays for our customers. In my free time, I enjoy watching Sale Sharks at the AJ Bell Stadium and have a keen interest in reptiles, they never fail to fascinate me.

    Jacob Collins

    Internal Wall Insulation Manager

    I oversee the day-to-day operations of the RIR and IWI division, ensuring every installation runs smoothly from start to finish. My focus is on delivering a seamless experience for our customers, helping them achieve warmer homes and lower energy bills. Outside of work, I’m a passionate football fan and dedicate my free time to following Bradford City across the country, often with a pint of Madri in hand. Up the Chickens! I take pride in the positive impact our work has on improving quality of life for our customers, while contributing to a more sustainable future.

    Jess McEvoy

    Submissions Team Leader

    As the Submissions Team Leader, I oversee the compilation, validation, and submission of all documentation related to company installations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery in line with industry standards. My team plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest levels of service, providing reliable, compliant, and efficient support to meet customer expectations. Outside of work, I embrace the outdoors through hiking and snowboarding, finding both adventure and relaxation in nature. I’m also passionate about cooking, constantly experimenting with new recipes and cuisines, it’s my creative outlet and a great way to unwind.

    Mariah Keyworth

    Planning Team

    In my role, I focus on making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible for our customers. My main responsibilities include arranging installation appointments, handling telephone calls, and addressing customers’ questions and queries. I take pride in helping customers feel reassured and at ease throughout their experience. Outside of work, I enjoy spending my weekends socialising with friends and family, and I never miss a chance to have a singalong on the karaoke! Building connections with people whether at work or during my downtime is something I truly value.

    Lewis Yates

    Install Coordinator

    I manage all our surveys, making sure they’re processed quickly and thoroughly. From detailed notes for surveyors to designs, compliance paperwork, installation notes, and quotations, I handle it all. I also coordinate with our asbestos contractors, managing surveys and removals across various schemes. Outside of work, I’m a big Man City fan, a movie and TV enthusiast (Goodfellas and Breaking Bad are my favourites), and a gamer who loves The Last of Us. I’m also keen on walking and make sure I hit at least 10,000 steps a day. My focus is on making sure we do everything we can for our customers, delivering the best service possible.

    Rhianna Hayes

    Submissions Team

    I play a key role in submitting paperwork and applications to the council, ensuring everything is completed accurately, on time, and in line with all necessary requirements. Working closely with my team, I help keep processes running smoothly, supporting our commitment to quality service. Outside of work, I love spending time on my family’s farm, soaking up the atmosphere at rock festivals, and catching up with family and friends.

    Submissions Team

    As a member of the submission team my role involves preparing and submitting paperwork to ensure full compliance with council regulations, while also meeting the varied requirements of each scheme. By ensuring that all documentation, forms, and information are correctly submitted, the submission team helps prevent errors that could affect the quality of service. This maintains high standards and ensures customers receive the right support at every stage. Away from work, I’m a keen festivalgoer, notoriously accident-prone, and always up for a good catch-up over a drink!

    Richard North

    Retrofit Assessor

    As a retrofit assessor, I have the privilege of traveling across the country, visiting homes to determine the insulation, ventilation, and renewable heating solutions they need. Along the way, I meet wonderful people and explore a variety of places, which makes my job both rewarding and fascinating. Outside of work, I love motorcycling, spending quality time with my grandchildren, and catching up with friends. Being part of a team that helps enhance homes and, hopefully, people’s lives give me a real sense of purpose and fulfilment.

    Alan Braithwaite

    Retrofit Assessor

    I work in the field conducting retrofit assessments and energy performance certificates, taking a whole-house approach to identify suitable upgrades that reduce carbon emissions and enhance our customers’ quality of life while lowering costs. In my spare time, I enjoy long walks, socialising over a few pints, and indulging in good food—especially cakes and tarts! I believe my role is instrumental in delivering energy efficiency measures, as I am the first point of contact for customers, guiding them through the process and ensuring they understand the benefits of sustainable home improvements.

    Gary Campbell

    Storeman

    My primary responsibility is ensuring the warehouse operates like a well-oiled machine every day. I also oversee deliveries and collections, making sure everything runs smoothly. I take great pride in supporting the field team by ensuring they have sufficient stock readily available, and that material and waste management is maintained to the highest standard. Outside of work, I’m a passionate supporter of Leeds United and always enjoy following my club.
